Taxes and your Gympass membership

All current Gympass members will be charged sales tax for their membership fees starting August 5, 2022. Any plans purchased on or after July 6, 2022 will include sales tax based on the billing address provided. 

We will be upgrading our systems to ensure the accuracy of information needed to determine the sales tax we are obligated by law to collect from subscribers. Therefore, sales tax may apply to membership plan prices if required.

For all new members, you will simply need to add your billing address while activating your plan when prompted. This address will be used to calculate your sales tax rate for your Gympass membership. 

For all existing members, you should update your billing address. Please reference the directions below.

How do I update my billing address?
  1. Login to your Gympass account.
  2. Open the Settings menu by selecting your name at the top.
  3. Select Payments.
  4. Select Billing Address.
  5. Enter your billing address and click Save
How will sales tax be calculated for my dependents?
All Family Members linked as dependents will be charged the same sales tax rate as the primary account holder. Their sales tax rate will be based on the billing address of the primary account holder.
What if I don’t provide my billing address?
If you do not update your billing address with Gympass, your sales tax rate will be based on the address of your company’s headquarters.
How are tax rates determined?

Tax rates are set by state and local governments and vary by location. Due to local needs, these rates are subject to change.

How can I see the amount of sales tax I was charged?
The amount charged for sales tax is noted on your receipt which can be viewed by accessing your payment information in Settings.
